Le Dr Irina Balikova allie une expertise scientifique à une approche chaleureuse et centrée sur le patient. Forte de plus de 10 ans d’expérience en ophtalmologie pédiatrique, elle se consacre chaque jour au développement visuel des enfants et à l’accompagnement des familles.
Le Dr Balikova est spécialisée en ophtalmologie pédiatrique, en strabisme, en amblyopie (œil paresseux), en maladies oculaires héréditaires et en ophtalmogénétique. Elle traite aussi bien les problèmes oculaires courants chez les enfants que les maladies génétiques rares pouvant affecter la vision. Elle pratique également la chirurgie du strabisme chez les enfants et les adultes.
Sa formation comprend une spécialisation en ophtalmologie à l’Université Libre de Bruxelles, un doctorat (PhD) à la KU Leuven et une sous-spécialisation en ophtalmologie pédiatrique et strabisme acquise dans le cadre de formations internationales, notamment le diplôme universitaire (DIU) d’ophtalmologie pédiatrique et de strabisme à Paris et le diplôme européen d’ophtalmologie pédiatrique et de strabisme (EBO – EPOS).
Le Dr Balikova combine ses activités cliniques avec un engagement scientifique fort.
Pour le Dr Balikova, ce n’est pas seulement le diagnostic qui est au centre de ses préoccupations, mais aussi le bien-être de l’enfant et le soutien à la famille. Elle estime qu’un bon traitement commence par une communication claire et la confiance.
