Our Brussels Eye Doctors team recently took part in a particularly interesting training course, recommended by our colleagues of Oogartsencentrum ZW-Vlaanderen en Kortrijk-West.
The course was led by Alexander Camerlynck (AC Saves Lives), an emergency and intensive care nurse. It was both comprehensive and very accessible.
The theoretical part covered the basic principles of first aid, the step-by-step approach to resuscitation according to current ERC guidelines, and the ABC protocol in emergency situations. During the practical part, we practiced resuscitation techniques on simulation mannequins and learned how to act in case of choking.
Our doctors and staff were unanimously enthusiastic about this hands-on and informative training, which is highly relevant not only to our daily work but also in private life—because anyone might one day be faced with someone in distress and need to act to save a life.
